RFI and EMI Shielding UV Silicone |

Radio frequency interference (RFI) which is also commonly referred to as electromagnetic interference (EMI) is any radiation or disturbance that disrupts an electrical circuit. Usually emitted from an external source the disturbance degrades or interferes with the operation of electronic circuitry. The source may be a naturally occurring object such as the sun, or it may be an artificial object such as a broadcast transmitter or a toaster oven. When fully integrated into an electronic device UV cured shielding compounds from Novagard® Silicones can help absorb or block the disturbance thereby protecting sensitive circuitry. Novagard shielding compounds may be screen printed as a coating or an ink, or extrude as a formed-in-place gasket.
